Hiking Tour in Yangshuo: 7 Days

Level of Difficulty: Intensive

Day 1-Before we start the hiking tour, we’ll meet you in the airport and take you to your hotel in Guilin by private car. We can then walk around the Four Lakes and visit Elephant Trunk Hill. You can stay the night in Guilin.

Day 2- We’ll meet you in the hotel reception in the morning and then drive you to the Longsheng Rice terraces. This area is famous for the many ethnic minorities that reside here. It takes around 3 hours to get there from Guilin by car. When we arrive we can hike to the village, since the car cannot reach there. This will take around an hour. We’ll check in to the traditional guesthouse and have a late lunch in Da Zai minority village. We’ll explore the village and learn about the customs of the local people. We’ll stay the night in the village.

Day 3- We’ll meet you in the morning at 9am and we will start hiking from Da Zai village to Ping An village, which will take 5-6 hours. On the way, we can see the traditional farm buildings and the people at work in the terrace fields. The area has a very unique and distinctive character. At around 1pm, we will stop to have lunch in one of the villages. We’ll then continue our way on the hiking tour for another 2 hours to Ping An village. This village has been open for tourists for a while, so there are some modern amenities. We can have dinner here and stay the night in a traditional guesthouse.

Day 4- We’ll meet you at the guesthouse in the morning and then continue the hiking tour to a Zhuang ethnic minority This is the largest of its kind in the area. It will take 2 hours to get there from Ping An. We’ll explore the village and have lunch there. Then we can walk down to the private car at the bottom of the mountain where the road starts to go back to Yangshuo. We’ll stay the night in Yangshuo.

Day 5- We can rent bikes and cycle to the Yulong River from Yangshuo. This area has some of the most beautiful scenery in the area. Then you can take a bamboo boat down to Moon Hill which takes around 2 hours. We’ll have a late lunch in a farmhouse restaurant near Moon Hill. We’ll then cycle back along the countryside trails to Yangshuo. We’ll stay the night in Yangshuo.

Day 6- We’ll meet you in the hotel reception and drive you to Xingping town which takes around an hour. We’ll hike from here to Yangdi which usually takes around 5 hours. This 23 km stretch is the most scenic part of the Li River. We’ll see many riverside villages on the way to Yangdi. After a late lunch in Yangdi, we’ll take a fishing boat from Yangdi to Xingping. We can relax and explore the town and then drive back to Yangshuo to stay the night.

Day 7- The plan for this day depends when you want to finish the hiking tour and your departure time. If it’s early we can transfer you to Guilin airport in our private car. If you have a later flight, I can suggest some different options like a cooking or tai chi class , kayaking trip , cave visit or a trip to the local market. We can then transfer you to the airport in our private car.
