Hiking Tour in Yangshuo: 5 Days

Level of Difficulty: Strenuous

Day 1-Before fully starting the hiking tour, we’ll meet you at Guilin Airport and transfer you straight to your hotel in Yangshuo by private car. We’ll relax in anticipation of an intensive day 2. We’ll take a look around the town which is a cosmopolitan town with a 1000 years of history. You can stay the night in Yangshuo.

Day 2- We’ll drive you to the ancient town of Xingping. We’ll hike from here to Yangdi which usually takes around 5 hours. This 23 km stretch is the most beautiful part of the Li River. We’ll pass several riverside villages on the way to Yangdi. After a late lunch in Yangdi, we’ll take a fishing boat from Yangdi to Xingping. We can relax and view the scenery from another perspective as we drift down the river. We stay the night in Xingping.

Day 3- We’ll rise early and have a look around the ancient town and then take a boat across to the other side of the Li River. We will pass many famous peaks such as Snail Hill and Heibao Hill along the river. We can have a lunch in a farmhouse along the way. We will arrive in the famous stone village in the late afternoon. We can then take the private car back to Yangshuo. The roads and paths here are countryside trails, so the car journey back can be a little bumpy. We’ll stay the night in Yangshuo. The total hiking distance can be up to 30 km.

Day 4- Day 3 was a very intensive day of the hiking tour, so we provide 2 options for Day 4.

Option 1- If you are really crazy about hiking we can continue with another hiking plan. We can hike along the Yulong River and have lunch in a farmhouse restaurant near Moon Hill. Then we can go back to Yangshuo along the countryside road by private car.

Option 2- We can rent bikes and cycle to the Yulong River from Yangshuo. Then you can take a bamboo boat down to Moon Hill. This boat trip takes around 2 hours. We’ll have a late lunch in a farmhouse restaurant next to Moon Hill. We’ll cycle back along the countryside paths to Yangshuo. This option gives us more time in the afternoon. You can try a foot massage to rest and recharge.

Day 5- The plan for this day depends on your departure time. If it’s early we can transfer you to Guilin airport in our private car. If you have a later flight, we can take a local bus to see the two ancient bridges near Yangshuo. Both bridges are around 600 years old and the rural setting is very picturesque. We always think this is a nice way to end the hiking tour. We’ll then transfer you to the airport for your flight.
