The Big Banyan TreeThe Big Banyan Tree is one of the main attractions of the Yangshuo area, It’s located to the South of Yangshuo, around 7.5 km away. Originally planted in the Jin Dynasty and said to be over 1500 years old, it is now around 17 metres high. The roots and branches twist and wind, holding up a rounded mass of leaves. The tree is on the west bank of the Jinbao River. This area boasts a selection of caves, rocks and mountains.
The famous old movie called Liusanjie contained a famous scene shot here. This scene has made the location a popular romantic spot.
