Mulan was an absolutely fantastic tour guide. If you don’t have time to read my review just know that you will not regret choosing her; Mulan is great and I would highly recommend her!

On one of our trips with her we went to a town that is famous for making handmade fans (the name escapes me right now).

Right when we stepped off the bus Mulan bought some sugar cane that she shared with us. What a delicious treat!

We saw numerous fan workshops. We were able to talk with the fan makers and even see how the fans were made. Next, Mulan introduced us to a local painter who showed off his painting skills as well as his beautiful artwork.

For the duration of the trip Mulan would go out of her way to familiarize us with traditional Chinese culture. For example, she explained to us the traditional way Chinese mothers carry their babies while working in the fields – little tidbits that could easily be missed on your own but are very interesting to hear.

I was in Yangshuo during my birthday. Mulan went out of her way to make me feel welcome: she helped organize my birthday festivities by booking an entire floor of my favourite restaurant for the party.

Mulan is fun to be around and I would highly recommend her! Any trip with Mulan is guaranteed to be more than just the sights; she will immerse you in the local culture.
