Xingping
Xingping town is situated on the east bank of the Li River. It’s about 27 kilometers from Yangshuo and 63 kilometers from Guilin. It is the largest town along the Li River. The view here across the river, flanked by mountains, provides the image on one side of the 20 RMB note. The town is also renowned for its steep, karst peaks and beautiful riverside setting.

The town is over 1000 years old and is one of the most famous historical towns in Guangxi Province. You can find many fine examples of Tang Dynasty architecture here. It was the largest town along the Li River in ancient times and is now one of the four most famous ancient towns in Guangxi Province. Areas of note include Mural Hill, Snail Hill, Lotus Crag and the Fishing village. You can get to the latter by taking a short boat trip

You can also take the renowned hike from the Town to Yangdi village which takes around 5 hours along the riverside. You can take a boat to the village.
