Yangshuo: The Jinbao River

Within Yangshuo County, there are three main tributaries of the Li River: The Dayuan River; the Yulong River and the Jinbao River. The Jinbao and the Yulong Rivers also converge forming the Tianjia River before joining the Li.

The Jinbao winds its way through some great scenery including Gaotian and the Big Banyan Tree. These areas provide some excellent photo opportunities of the karst mountains reflected in the water. The surrounding farmland also makes for a quiet and peaceful setting.

Yangshuo Jinbao River

There is a popular area for taking photos between Moon Hill and the Big Banyan Tree. It’s relatively easy to get to. If you go past the Big Banyan Tree and keep going in the direction of Moon Hill, you will come to a right turn after about 700 or 800 hundred metres. Keep going for about the same distance again until you reach the river. You can go by car or bicycle.
