Yangshuo: Laozhai Hill
Laozhai Hill is located next to the Li River in Xingping Town in Yangshuo County. You can find the path leading up to the hill in Rongtan Park which is right next to Xingping wharf. Climb the stone steps to enjoy a fantastic view of the top and take some memorable photos. The panoramic view of the mountains is beautiful and the viewpoint is a celebrated spot for photographers. It’s proximity to the river and the way it towers over the wharf have made it a famous viewing point.
Many people visit Xingping town to see the famous view across the Li which is portrayed on the 20 RMB note. Often tourists will then climb Laozhai hill and enjoy a boat trip on the most beautiful stretch of the Li River, from Xingping to Yangdi. There are a multitude of scenic locations and professional photographers feel spoilt for choice. It’s also possible to arrange river and road transportation to these spots if you are interested in photography.
