Yangshuo: Shangrila
Shangrila or ‘Land of Peach Blossoms’ is situated just off the Guilin- Yangshuo road, being around 16 km outside the latter. Peach trees can be found lining the riverbank and the cottages and paddy fields make for some scenic views.
It actually acts as a kind of park demonstrating local customs and the traditions of the ethnic minorities. There’s a boat trip on the river where you can see the different types of dwellings and even some traditional dance from the ethnic minorities. 
There is however quite a commercial feel to the place with quite a variety of shops near the exit area. If you a looking for a less commercialized look at local customs, it’s best to get out to some of the local villages around the area or visit Longsheng Rice Terraces. It does offer the chance to take some great photos with some great scenic views coupled with the traditional decorations and buildings.
